Little Love Song

Little Love Song

Remember this song “Chiisana Koi no Uta (小さな恋の歌)” ? It’s a love song sang by MONGOL800 and it became widely known because of the drama Operation Love. The song was released in year 2001 and actually it also sang by other artists as cover song, and I found six of them.

Although they are singing the same song, but each of them portray the song differently with different singing style and music. Some are quite light and easy and some are sorrow. Below is the music list of the covers as well as the original version. So, which one do you like?

English Translation
On wide blue Earth, just one of many in a large universe
These little thoughts of love will reach the small island where you are

Since we met, some time has passed
The pile of letters that express my thoughts has also grown
Before we knew it, we were echoing one another
At times, intensely.. and at other times, painfully

The echo travels far, far away
A gentle song can change the world

Look, the one who is precious is already right beside you
I just want this song to reach you
Look, look, look
This song of love will echo far and wide

You notice that the moon shines over even the darkest streets we walk together
Without ever letting go of the hand in mine, I firmly pledge an eternity
In the depths of eternity I know that I’ll say those same words once more, my feelings unwavering
But even that won’t be enough, and the words will turn into tears, and then a joy that can’t be expressed in words
I’ll just hold you tightly
I’ll just hold you tightly

Look, for you, the one who is precious is already right beside you
I just want this song to reach you
Look, look, look
This song of love will echo far and wide

If this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up
If this is a dream, I don’t want to wake up
The time I spent with you will become an eternal star

Look, the one who is precious is already right beside you
I just want this song to reach you
Look, look, look
This song of love will echo far and wide

Look, the one who is precious is already right beside you
I just want this song to reach you
Look, look, look
This song of love will echo far and wide

Pretty Boxy

As a designer we always wanted to be creative and think out of the box and breaking the grid. But in my opinion getting boxy in design is actually quite nice and pretty too. Boxy designs give me a feeling of professional, clean, and systematic. With boxes and standard grid, viewers eye can be easily guided which makes surfing website a pleasure experience.

Below are some boxy website examples. What do you think of this kind of web design?

Interesting photo collages of Japan

Recently I came across this interesting video of photo collages of Japan that was taken by Eric Testroete during his trip to Japan for about three weeks. The photos was presented in a quick way together with the great music which makes it like a stop frame motion. Very inspirational and real. The photos can be found here. This video makes me wanted to go Japan already.

Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the Lunar New Year and here I wishes all the Chinese and people who celebrates this day a very Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fatt Chai! 😀 Well today is public holiday so me and family members took this opportunity to visit relatives and celebrate with them. Although I’m already 24 but I still receiving red packets like a small kid which makes me a little hesitate to receive them. When I will start giving instead of receiving?

As you can see, the cute idol I used in this post is the popular Sawajiri Erika in traditional Chinese dress named Cheongsam and normally people will refer this type of costume as “China Doll” (correct me if I’m wrong). She had too much scandals and negative news around her which I think is a little sad, and now she got married already. Congratulations to her.

I still like her and I miss her. She had been missing from movies and dramas for some time. Hope she can back to the Entertainment Industry and become a good girl (and wife) and show us the great acting talent. 😀 Below are some more of her pictures. Again, Happy Chinese New Year!

24

24

Well for many Chinese people, 24 is not a good number. However, 24 is my lucky number, and I also turned 24 this year too. Here I want to take opportunity to thank my friends and family for the wishes and little gift, thank you very much. It’s a memorable day for me.

What’s my birthday wishes? Actually I don’t have really having any wishes but hope that the World will become more peaceful and beautiful that everyone will always have smiling on their face and I to live every minute in a way that I don’t want to regret. And for this blog, things are getting slowed down but I will continue to publish posts so please continue to support my blog. 🙂

“Arafo” and “Guu!” voted Japanese buzzwords of 2008

Only few days more to the end of year 2008! While feeling exciting to welcome the brand new year, why don’t we take a look at what expressions had been voted the buzzwords of the year 2008 in Japan. Recently U-CAN conducted a yearly “new phrase/trendy words” nominations and voted that “Arafo” and “Guu!” are the buzzwords of 2008.

“Arafo,” a Japanese word that stands for “women aged around 40 years”. according to Mainichi news, tv drama “Around Forty” which acted by Yuki Amami, contributed to the popularization of the word “arafo,” received the prize at a ceremony held in Tokyo on Monday.

The winner receives prize at the ceremony

While “Guu!”, a comedian’s hit line meaning “Good,” is a signature gag of female comedian Harumi Edo, who rocketed to fame this year for the word, which she shouts while making a thumbs-up pose. You can read more about it at the Mainichi news link provided above, while the original news that was written in Japanese can be found here.

I think buzzwords really can reflect what was popular throughout one particular year. I heard about “Around 40” this drama but I never had a chance to watch it. But I will pick it up somewhere in near future. While I think “Guu!” is a cute expressions, perhaps I should learn to say this together with the thumbs up like picture above.

Well, if you interested, this is the link to Japanese 2007 buzzwords and 2005-2006 buzzwords.

Most of them sounds really good and I really like songs by CHEMISTRY, Fukuhara Miho etc. Without saying anymore, below are the Christmas J-pop playlist for your ear pleasure.
