Unconventional drawing materials sometimes also can be a useful drawing tool, for example the correction rollers. And in this ad embedded above, famous UK graphic designer Michael C. Place demonstrates us that correction rollers can create stunning piece of artwork too. It’s pretty amazing on his skill on controlling the rollers navigating the paths without making any errors. Brilliant!

AXE (or Lynx in UK, Ireland and Australia), is a world famous grooming brand from Unilever. The product line includes deodorants, body sprays, shower gels and a wide range of seductive fragrances. Their marketing campaign is always exaggerating “boys get girls” or opposite sex attraction especially the AXE Effect campaign. It is very eye catchy, naughty, seductive and tonnes of sense of humor!

After applying Axe product on a men’s body, the seductive smell will immediately attracts a crowd of women flying towards you, this is the concept of the AXE Effect campaign. According to AXE, AXE Effect is the internationally recognized named for the increased attention AXE-wearing males receive from eager, and attractive, female pursuers. The concept is simple yet effective because it hits the male’s desire of wanted to be attractive to girls. Below are the showcases of some funny, well executed AXE Effect ads. Imagination is needed.

Fight Fat! – keep yourself fit & healthy

Fight Fat!

Obesity is one of the serious issues out there as human are getting fatter and fatter! Well, people nowadays are too lazy to go for a exercise and having a bad eating habit lifestyle, which lead them to overweight problems especially the kids. Being overweight is no good, because it brings a lot bad effects to body for example high blood pressure and more. So we have to use the power of advertising to warn people about the seriousness of overweight problem by having a better eating lifestyle and go exercise!

The award winning ad shown above is one good example of using effective image and straight forward copywriting. It shows a healthy fit man fighting with the fat version of himself. The tagline is just a simple “Fight Fat”. I think it is very making sense because we always says that to keep fit is by fighting the fat! This is an advertising to promote kick boxing for Xtreme Martial Arts. There is another two variation shown below. By the way, the ad was done by Malaysian.

Breast cancer awareness mouse pad

This post is in conjunction with the Pink For October Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign. According to Wikipedia, breast cancer is the 5th most common cause of cancer death in the world. In 2005, breast cancer caused 502,000 deaths internationally and among women worldwide, breast cancer is the most common cancer and the most common cause of cancer death. This shows how serious breast cancer is.

Breast cancer happens when the breast cells grow uncontrolled, and breast cancer is not a women thing, because it could happen men too. So how to prevent it? Answer is pretty clear showed by the mouse pad above: by doing breast self-exams regularly.

For me, prevention is the best medicine. Get your lifestyle healthy, stop smoking, do exercise, keep yourself in shape and do self check up regularly like how frequently you hold the mouse (similar concept). Studies show that regular breast self-exams, combined with an annual exam by a doctor, improves the chances of detecting cancer early.
