In 2007, I posted a blog post about 4 Japan web design galleries that worth visiting to introduce web design showcase sites that is from Japan which showcases nice Japanese web designs. Since then, I found more Japan web galleries and would like to add them up to the list.
In my opinion, Japanese websites are nice, clean and functional. I think it’s good to study how they construct the website, dealing with white spaces and typography treatment. Although we can see that there is certain cliches in them but I think perhaps for Japanese, those format are the most functional to them? Below are the 5 web design galleries that I want to introduce today.

@tom: Sure you can learn web designing. Perhaps you can start by learning some Photoshop skills, then try surfing some web galleries to get inspiration, and try to learn web standards too. It’s an ongoing process as I’m also a web learner too. Better if you can go to college to study web and design.
actually i learn already about photoshop and illustrator.

hi tom, you need to know HTML to do web pages. http://www.w3schools.com/html/default.asp is a great place to learn. And also you need to buy domain and hosting to upload the html files. Or if you just want a blog or something, you can start with https://www.blogger.com/start or http://wordpress.com/.

March 24th, 2009 at 3:36 pmI hear all these props about these japanese site designs and that’s great! BUT,
atleast half of these sites take to long to load… Have you guys ever heard of “optimization”?? Jeez, I know flash is COOL but learn how to optimize graphics first people.
Secondly, here is just a small sample of clean american web site designs, not trying to belittle anyone, but just know that there is just as much or even better American or European designs out there:

PEACE OUT ya monkeys!
June 3rd, 2009 at 4:42 amThanks for those links!! I’ll use them for references for sure.
I think Japanese websites tends to tell “story”, or try to make personal interactions w/ visitors. (which often require heavy flash and LOOOONG waiting… orz) Not only design, but I also like conceptual side of them.
Yes, US and Europe also got great websites
Nobu-chan’s reference, http://www.theFWA.com has a lot of lovely examples!
FYI:
