3 things in Japan that I wish to have in my country
08.11.08Filed Under: Japan

I really like Japan - the food, the urban environment, technologies, conveniency, the designs… everything is designed and created to cater for all needs. In my country here, there are a lot of things are influenced or derived from Japan, but there is top three priority that I really wish to have: Hitokara, Japanese flip phone, and Uniqlo.
Hitokara
Hitokara is derived from the word “Hitori Karaoke”, which means karaoke for one person, or go to karaoke box alone. Sings in a group of friends is fun, but it is much more interesting to sing by myself without anyone. I can sing the song I want to sing without waiting and release my stress and have fun in this little room. I really love this hitokara idea.
Japanese flip phone

Japanese style flip phone is so nice! I really like the rectangular-ish and slim flip phone because it looks stylish and classy. While in Malaysia, I can’t really spot anything like this.
Uniqlo

UNIQLO is Japan’s leading clothing retail chain, and I hope to see them opening a branch in Malaysia! I know I can buy on the net but seriously I hope to see them physically in my country. Uniqlo design rocks.

Hi, Just read your blog, hell yeah, japan’s rock.
November 14th, 2008 at 8:00 amAnyway, if you know anything about using japanese phone in Malaysia,
I want to use japan phone here…is it possibe??
I love Japan too and I also have my own wish list - one is to have the humility and respectful attitude of the Japanese people. They are a bunch of people who knows how to show respect and consideration to others.
I have once had an encounter with a Japanese woman who was sitting beside me inside an airplane bound for Narita. Since I was in the aisle seat, she had to pass by me on her way to the restroom. And every time she had to go there, which was an awful lot of times as she probably drank too much water before the trip, she would always bow down and say “Excuse me, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” over and over and then again when going back to her seat. I finally got tired of saying, “It’s okay,” “No Problem,” “Don’t worry about it,” and all sorts of reply that would appease her guilt, and decided to just pretend to be asleep.
I wasn’t really bothered by her constant visit to the restroom nor by her bowing and never-ending apologies. I even actually admired her and the Japanese people as a whole for this very humble gesture.
Cheers to Japan!

November 16th, 2008 at 6:38 pmJapan is nice, and it has something idealistic in my mind.
November 17th, 2008 at 12:14 pmI would love to study there, perhaps taking design. I m not sure.
I dont really know what scholarship/course offered for Malaysian
students to learn in Japan.
If you can help that would be cool.
I do like SoftBank. The emojis are cute,
and how to say this. Japanese really rely on cellphones
more than PC,internet.
ps : Even Ueda Tatsuya does not know what internet should be.
Yeah! Uni-Qlo!!!
I am currently living in Japan on exchange. Most of my wardrobe is Uni-Qlo. It’s just so stylish and cheap as. Living in Australia, the fashion there isn’t that amazing so I will be sad to have to go back in February.
For me, what I will miss most about Japan is … everything! Especially the food and how cheap it is. Will be a sad day for all…
日本がナンバー1(笑)
November 18th, 2008 at 12:22 am@zero: it’s possible. But need to bypass it to use it in non Jap country.
November 18th, 2008 at 9:14 am@KatanaDave: Yeah, they are one community with good manners.
@ neuromaster and tim: Ya, to be honest, I like everything about them, but I can’t be that greedy because my country isn’t Japan. Zenbu ga daisuki!
ask Uniqlo wether got provide any franchise or not… may be can join venture with them and share profit… provided they wan to do so
